I’m not rich, and likely never will be. Until a few years ago, my standard travel accommodation was a hostel dorm room and that was ok with me. I didn’t know any better. Flying business class was just a dream, let alone first class. Then, as I was browsing the internet, I stumbled upon travel hacking and my entire world changed.
Since jumping down the rabbit hole, I’ve experienced things I never thought possible. I’ve flown business class to four continents, stayed in five star hotels so far out of my price range it’s comical, and doing it all on a budget no larger than a backpacker’s.
Some people think what I do is crazy, illegal, or both. Some think I’m ruining my credit, yet my score is a solid 780-800 depending on the day. People think a lot of things, but the thing most have a hard time believing is they too can be doing these things.
I’m writing this from 40,000 feet, flying a 15 hour flight in a Cathay Pacific First Class Suite. If you were to purchase this flight it would cost you over $15,000 one way. My cost : $225, and if would have been even less but I paid a $125 fee to change the dates of my flights. I’m sipping a 2004 vintage Krug that retails for about $250 a bottle, and I’ve had about a bottle already.
I don’t write all this to brag, but to show you the power of travel hacking and what it can do. I won’t sugar coat it, it’s not as easy as a couple clicks on the internet and you’re flying business for free. It takes research and some dedication, but anyone with a good credit score can do what I’ve done. Maybe you want to get some free hotel stays, maybe you want to get your next flight for free, whatever it is travel hacking can help.
So what are you waiting for!?
